A lot was happening in 1973-74 in the Swift Creek Mound area, the original site of the Swift Creek Culture. Bibb County was constructing a sheriff's training area at the original mound site, and across I-16 Geico and Brown & Williamson were being constructed. While interning at Chichester's Pharmacy my aunt asked me to take my younger cousin where he always shot his BB gun: this very site. I began finding arrowheads and over the next year and a half found over 100 at this site. I feel it is wrong to destroy such sites in need of study and wish more sites could be protected. And the public never gets to view what is found at these sites. For example the Smithsonian found over 23,000 artifacts when the airport was constructed on St Simons Island but has the public ever seen them? We need a State Indian Museum in Georgia, something world class like the Heard Museum in Phoenix.

Thank you Mike. I did not know about this source for native plants. I found a couple of plants I have looked for a good while.
